Abstract
Abstrak
Kondisi geologi bawah permukaan di dataran Yogyakarta masih belum terjawabkan dengan tuntas. Sejumlah hipotesis masih
menjadi perdebatan dikalangan ahli geologi. Oleh karenanya penelitian geologi terhadap cekungan Yogyakarta sangat
menarik untuk dilakukan terlebih dikaitkan dengan gempa bumi. Kajian ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan gambaran awal
keberadaan pola struktur sesar berarah Barat laut-Tenggara di wilayah Yogyakarta bagian Selatan. Metode pengkajian
berdasarkan data citra foto udara dan beberapa data lapangan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya pola struktur sesar mendatar
mengkiri memanjang dari tepi Kali Opak sampai di sebelah barat sungai Progo.

Abstract
Condition of subsurface geological in Yogyakarta plains is still not too thoroughly justified. A number of hypotheses are still
a debate among geologists. Therefore geological studies of the basin Yogyakarta very interesting thing to do especially
associated with the earthquake. This study is aid to early illustrate the presence of a fault structures Northwest-Southeast
trending in the southern part of Yogyakarta. Method of assessment based on aerial photographs of image data and some field
data. The results of the study showed a pattern of left slip fault structures extending from the edge of Opak river’s to the west
of Progo river’s. Key words: Fault, Opak, Progo, Yogyakarta, Earthquake
