Abstract

The research area is administratively located in Purabaya District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province. Astronomically, the research area is located at coordinates 106° 47' 46.8” East Longitude – 106° 51' 58” East Longitude and 7° 06' 29.8” South Latitude – 7° 9' 44” South Latitude with an area of ± 54 km2 (9 km × 6 km). The research area is included in the Digital Earth Map of Indonesia, included in the Jampang Tengah Sheet 1208 - 443 and the Tugu Peak Sheet 1206 - 441 with a scale of 1: 25,000. The purpose and objective of this research is to conduct geological mapping based on detailed surface data to determine the geological conditions of the research area which are presented in the final report text along with maps of observation locations, geological maps, and geomorphological maps. A special problem study on the geochemistry of andesite lava was carried out with the aim and purpose of knowing the results of the geochemical element content of rock samples that were analyzed and compared with research data from other areas. The method used is geological surface mapping supported by laboratory analysis, namely petrographic analysis and paleontological analysis. The problem in particular is geochemical analysis using the XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) method. Based on the geological data analysis, the research area can be divided into five geomorphological units, namely the Floodplain Geomorphological Unit (F7), the Denudational Mountains and Hills Geomorphology Unit (D3), the Hills and Slope Denudational Geomorphological Unit (D1), the Hills and Slope Geomorphology Unit. Denudasional (D2), Denudational Ridge-Hill Geomorphology Unit (D2), and Denudational Slope Geomorphology Unit (D7). The research area is divided into three rock units, from the oldest to the youngest, namely the Tufan Sandstone Unit, the Andesite Breccia Unit, the Tuff Unit, and the Old Step Sediment Unit. There is no significant geological structure in the research area. The geological history of the study area was formed since the Late Miocene and continues to grow until now. Potential geological resources in the research area in the form of soil, water, and minerals, while the potential for geological disasters in the form of landslides, droughts, floods, and earthquakes. The conclusion from the geochemical analysis on LP 25 andesitic lava that there is a result of the subduction/convergence of the Australian Plate and the Eurasian Plate which experienced magma differentiation in the Tertiary Age = Daerah penelitian secara administratif terletak di Kecamatan Purabaya, Kabupaten Sukabumi, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Secara astronomis daerah penelitian terletak pada koordinat 106° 47’ 46.8” BT – 106° 51’ 58” BT dan 7° 06’ 29.8” LS – 7° 9’ 44” LS dengan luas daerah penelitian ± 54 km2 (9 km × 6 km). Daerah penelitian termasuk dalam Peta Rupa Bumi Digital Indonesia masuk dalam Lembar Jampang Tengah 1208 – 443 dan Lembar Puncak Tugu 1206 – 441 dengan skala 1 : 25.000. Maksud dan tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan pemetaan geologi berdasarkan data permukaan secara rinci untuk mengetahui kondisi geologi daerah penelitian yang disajikan dalam naskah laporan akhir beserta peta lokasi pengamatan, peta geologi, dan peta geomorfologi. Studi masalah khusus tentang geokimia lava andesit dilakukan dengan maksud dan tujuan untuk mengetahui hasil kandungan unsur geokimia terhadap sampel batuan yang dianalisis dan dibandingkan dengan data penelitian dari daerah lain. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemetaan geologi permukaan yang didukung dengan analisis laboratorium, yaitu analisis petrografi dan analisis paleontologi. Adapun untuk masalah khususnya adalah analisis geokimia dengan menggunakan metode XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence). Berdasarkan analisis data geologinya, daerah penelitian dapat dibagi menjadi lima satuan geomorfologi, yaitu Satuan Geomorfologi Dataran Banjir (F7), Satuan Geomorfologi Pegunungan dan Perbukitan Denudasional (D3), Satuan Geomorfologi Perbukitan dan Lereng Denudasional Erosi Kecil (D1), Satuan Geomorfologi Perbukitan dan Lereng Denudasional (D2), Satuan Geomorfologi Bergelombang Kuat-Perbukitan Denudasional (D2), dan Satuan Geomorfologi Kaki Lereng Denudasional (D7). Daerah penelitian terbagi atas tiga satuan batuan, dari yang tua ke muda yaitu Satuan Batupasir Tufan, Satuan Breksi Andesit, Satuan Tuff, dan Satuan Endapan Undak Tua. Daerah penelitian tidak terdapat struktur geologi yang berarti. Sejarah geologi daerah penelitian terbentuk sejak kala Miosen Akhir dan terus berkembang sampai sekarang. Potensi sumber daya geologi di daerah penelitian berupa tanah, air, dan bahan galian, sedangkan potensi bencana geologi berupa tanah longsor, kekeringan, banjir, dan gempa bumi. Kesimpulan dari analisis geokimia pada LP 25 lava andesit yang ada merupakan hasil dari subduksi/ konvergen Lempeng Australia dan Lempeng Eurasia yang mengalami diferensiasi magma pada Zaman Tersier.
