Abstract
PT. Mandiri Intiperkasa is a coal mining company, administratively located in Sembakung and Sesayap Hilir District, Nunukan and Tana Tidung Regency, North Kalimantan Province. This study aims to determine the effect of the dimensions and length of the stockpile on the temperature increase in coal, evaluate selfcombustion control efforts in attempt to control coal quality, and design an ideal stockpile management. The method used in this research is a combination of existing theories and data obtained during field research by conducting literature studies to find references related to the topic, followed by field observations to determine field conditions, then collecting secondary and primary data, then data processing and data analysis as well as conclusions and suggestions are carried out. In the study the dimensions of piles that have a pile height of 8 meters have a greater potential for self-burning compared to piles with a height of 5 meters, and the time of piles is one of the biggest factors for the occurrence of self-combustion, where the potential for occurs in piles that have been piled up for more than 33 days. Tends to experience self-combustion compared to heaps that are 14 days old. The dimensional design of the coal pile is made with a height of 5 meters with a heap time of 15 days. Based on the research results, the design of the dimensions of the embankment and recommendations for the duration of this embankment were made, in order to reduce the potential for self-burning. Efforts to improve the drainage system by maintaining and repairing the stockpile floor by designing a floor slope of 5% so that the water in the stockpile can flow directly into the trench, then with a thickness of bedding coal around 50 – 55cm it is expected to minimize the transport of soil material by heavy equipment can be impurities for the piles. Prevention efforts include implementation of control and monitoring, as well as compaction of stockpiles. Making a windshield in the form of a greenbelt with the type of palm tree. While the countermeasures are by extinguishing and dousing chemicals, and so that what is separated does not affect other piles = Lokasi penelitian berada di PT.Mandiri Intiperkasa yang merupakan perusahaan penambangan batubara yang secara administratif terletak di Kecamatan Sembakung dan Kecamatan Sesayap Hilir, Kabupaten Nunukan dan Kabupaten Tana Tidung, Provinsi Kalimantan Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dimensi dan lama timbunan terhadap kenaikan temperatur pada batubara, evaluasi upaya pengendalian swabakar dalam upaya pengendalian kualitas batubara, serta merancang manajemen stockpile yang ideal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penggabungan antara teori-teori yang ada dengan data yang diperoleh selama penelitian di lapangan dengan melakukan studi literatur guna mencari referensi yang berkaitan dengan topik penelitian, dilanjutkan dengan observasi lapangan guna mengetahui kondisi lapangan, kemudian pengambilan data sekunder maupun data primer, selanjutnya dilakukan pengolahan data dan analisis data serta kesimpulan dan saran. Pada penelitian dimensi timbunan yang rmemiliki tinggi tumpukan 8 meter memiliki potensi swabakar yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan tumpukan dengan tinggi 5 meter, serta waktu timbunan menjadi salah satu faktor terbesar terjadinya swabakar , dimana potensi terjadinya swabakar pada tumpukan yang memiliki lama timbunan lebih dari 33 hari, cenderung mengalami swabakar dibandingkan dengan timbunan yang berumur 14 hari. Perancanaan desain dimensi tumpukan batubara dibuat dengan tinggi 5 meter dengan lama timbunan 15 hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, desain dimensi timbunan dan rekomendasi lama timbunan ini dibuat, guna mengurangi potensi terjadinya swabakar. Upaya perbaikan sistem penirisan dengan cara perawatan dan perbaikan lantai stockpile yakni dengan merancang kemiringan lantai sebesar 5% sehingga air pada stockpile dapat langsung mengalir ke saluran terbuka, lalu dengan ketebalan bedding coal sebesar 50 – 55cm diharapkan dapat meminimalisir terbawanya material tanah oleh alak mekanis yang dapat menjadi pengotor. Upaya pencegahan berupa pemberlakuan controlling and monitoring, serta compacting timbunan. Pembuatan windshield, berupa jaring pepohonan dengan jenis pohon yang disarankan palem kipas. Penyiraman chemical self-combustion inhibitor, penambangan selektif, perawatan alak mekanis yang bekerja di stockpile dan penerapan sistem manajemen FIFO dengan cara merancang pola penumpukan yang strategis dan pembuatan jarak ±7 meter antar timbunan dan tanggul agar dapat mempermudah proses penimbunan dan pembongkaran. Sedangkan upaya penanggulangan yakni dengan cara pemadaman dan penyiraman chemical, dan dipisahkan agar tidak mempengaruhi timbunan yang lainnya.
