Based on regional physiography and stratigraphy, it is included in the physiography of the Southern Mountain Zone. In general, the Semilir Formation is a silt-infused sandstone unit of late early Miocene age, this unit has an inconsistent relationship with the formation above it, which is obtained based on the physical characteristics of rock units in the field by paying attention to informal unit naming procedures, and based on geology as well as lithostratigraphy in Sandi Indonesian Stratigraphy (Martodjojo and Djalaeni, 1996). Anticline sedimentary structures and fault indications are found in the study area. This research will focus on the study of the zoning of landslide susceptibility. The research method is in the form of field data collection and studio analysis. Based on the results of field observations, the zoning of soil movement susceptibility in the research area can be concluded that the research area is divided into two soil vulnerability zones, the first is a low level of vulnerability and a high level of soil vulnerability = Daerah penelitian terletak di daerah Sumberrejo, karang sari dan sekitarny, Kecamatan Karang Mojo, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Berdasarkan fisiografi dan stratigrafi regional, termasuk ke dalam fisiografi Zona Pegunungan Selatan. Secara umum Formasi Semilir Satuan batupasir sisipan lanau berumur akhir miosen awal, satuan ini mempunyai hubungan yang tidak selaras dengan formasi diatasnya, yang diperoleh berdasarkan ciri fisik satuan batuan di lapangan dengan memperhatikan tata cara penamaan satuan tidak resmi, dan berdasarkan pada geologi juga litostratigrafi dalam Sandi Stratigrafi Indonesia (Martodjojo dan Djalaeni, 1996). Struktur sedimen antiklin dan indikasi sesar terdapat pada daerah penelitian. Penelitian ini akan fokus pada kajian Zonasi kerentanan gerakan tanah. Metode penelitian berupa pengambalian data lapangan dan analisis studio.
