Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pemetaan geologi permukaan (geological surface mapping), metode tersebut adalah melakukan pengamatan langsung data–data geologi yang tersingkap di permukaan bumi meliputi data geomorfologi, stratigrafi, struktur geologi, dan geologi lingkungan yang mencakup sumberdaya dan bencana geologi. Satuan Geomorfologi daerah penelitian dapat dibagi menjadi 4 Satuan Geomorfologi, yaitu Satuan Geomorfologi Tubuh Sungai (F1), Satuan Geomorfologi Dataran Banjir (F3), Satuan Geomorfologi Perbukitan dan Lereng Denudasional (D2), dan Satuan Geomorfologi Dataran-Dataran Denudasional (D5). Stratigrafi daerah penelitian dapat dibagi menjadi 5 satuan batuan tidak resmi, dari tua ke muda, yaitu Satuan Batulempung Karbonatan Kerek, Satuan Breksi Andesit Kerek, Satuan Batupasir Tuff Damar, Satuan Breksi Andesit Kaligetas, dan Satuan Endapan Pasir-Kerakal. Struktur geologi daerah penelitian yang berkembang yaitu berupa kekar dan sesar. Geologi lingkungan di daerah penelitian memperlihatkan potensi sesumber yang berupa sumberdaya tanah yang dimanfaatkan sebagai lahan perkebunan. Adapun potensi bencana geologi yang berkembang pada daerah penelitian yaitu jatuhan batuan dan tanah longsor. Kata Kunci : Patean, Geologi, Tanah longsor The study area is administratively located in Patean District, Kendal Regency, Central Java. The research method used is the geological surface mapping method, this method is to make direct observations of geological data exposed on the earth's surface including geomorphological, stratigraphic, geological structure, and environmental geology data which includes geological resources and disasters. The Geomorphological Unit of the study area can be divided into 4 Geomorphological Units, namely River Body Geomorphology Unit (F1), Flood Plain Geomorphology Unit (F3), Denudational Hills and Slope Geomorphology Unit (D2), and Denudational Plains Geomorphology Unit (D5). The stratigraphy of the study area can be divided into 5 unofficial rock units, from old to young, namely the Kerek Carbonate Claystone Unit, the Kerek Andesite Breccia Unit, the Damar Tuff Sandstone Unit, the Kaligetas Andesite Breccia Unit, and the SandCoral Sediment Unit. The developing geological structure of the research area is in the form of joints and faults. Environmental geology in the study area shows potential resources in the form of soil resources that are utilized as plantation land. The potential for geological disasters that develop in the research area are rock falls and mass movement of the soil.
