Based on some previous literature, western part of North Serayu area is Rambatan, Halang and Pemali Formations which are inconsistent in age. Some previous researchers said that Pemali Formation is older than Halang Formation and the other younger and as a result, posed some difficulties in nomenclature, subdivision and correlation. The present thesis aimed to clarify these problems through sedimentology and stratigraphy with sequence stratigraphic approach. The study area is composed of gradation of lobe, which forms submarine fan, due to gravity flow from debris to turbidite, which was deposited during N13-20. That sediment is found from upper, middle, and lower fan and also tidal. Upper fan and middle fan represent Halang Formation, lower fan represents Rambatan Formation, and basin plain represents Pemali Formation and their relation is interfinggering. Facies gradation in the study area is progradation and it can be grouped into 10 sequences. Sequences 1 to 4 are aggradation. During the middle of N18, there was an active tectonic phase occurred that caused increase in sedimentation by volcanic products as 5 to 8 sequences. From the sequences 9 to 10 are formed during the N19-N20 and showed increase in accommodation. Hydrocarbon prospects of the study area are reservoir and trap. Halang Formation is reservoir, where seepage and dead oil are found. Stratigraphic trap is in the Pemali Formation, and structural trap is possibility of toe thrust style.
