Pendul di Perbukitan Jiwo dengan aliran lava di dekatnya yang termasuk di dalam Formasi Kebo-Butak belum diketahui. Hasil penelitian dengan pendekatan stratigrafi, petrologi-geokimia dan volkanologi menunjukkan bahwa batuan intrusi dan ekstrusi itu mempunyai hubungan sangat erat. Keduanya berumur lk. 30 jtl, terletak di atas Formasi Gamping-Wungkal dan berkomposisi basa (49 -52,8 % SiO ). Batuan intrusi itu adalah gabro, umumnya 2 berbutir sedang sampai halus, sedangkan batuan ekstrusinya termasuk basal berbutir halus. Sebagai mineral penyusun utama keduanya adalah plagioklas dan piroksen klino sedang tambahannya mineral opak. Gelas dan mikrolit dijumpai sedikit di dalam batuan intrusi, tetapi kehadirannya semakin melimpah di dalam batuan ekstrusi. Secara volkanologi, gabro itu dipandang sebagai tubuh intrusi semi gunungapi yang berbentuk kubah bawah permukaan. Sedangkan aliran lava basal yang terletak paling dekat, yakni di Kalinampu dan Nampurejo, yang berasosiasi dengan tuf hitam, merupakan produk ekstrusinya. Sementara itu aliran lava basal G. Sepikul dan Kali Cermo diperkirakan sebagai hasil erupsi gunungapi parasit di daerah Bayat. Kata kunci: ekstrusi, gunungapi parasit, intrusi, Jiwo, kubah bawah permukaan. ABSTRACT So far, the genetic relationship between an intrusive igneous rock of Mt. Pendul at Jiwo Hills and lava flows nearby as a part of Kebo-Butak Formation has not been known yet. Following the approach of stratigraphy, petrology-geochemistry and volcanology, it is confirmed that the intrusive and extrusive rocks have very close relationship. Both have an age about 30 Ma, stratigraphically they lie on the Gamping-Wungkal Formation, and are basic in composition (49-52.8 % SiO ). The intrusive rock is 2 gabro, generally medium to fine grain, while the extrusive rocks are fine grain basalt. Their essential minerals are plagioclase and clinopyroxene with opaque mineral as an accessory constituent. Volcanis glass and microlites are minor in the fine grain intrusive rock, but become abundant in the extrusive ones. Based on volcanological view, the gabro is considered as a subvolcanic intrusion of a cryptodome. Whereas, basaltic lavas nearby, at Kalinampu and Nampurejo which are associated with a black tuff are products of extrusive activities. In the meantime, basaltic lavas of Mt. Sepikul and Cermo River are results of parasitic volcanism in the Bayat area.
